Diane Venora as “Red.”
Diane was born in East Hartford, Connecticut and attended Julliard School of Drama on a full scholarship. Her critically acclaimed performance as the wife of Charlie Parker (Forrest Whittaker) in Clint Eastwood’s feature of jazz great Bird earned her a Golden Globe nomination and won her the New York Film Critics Award and a Sant Jordi Award. Diane has also received the “Copper Wing Award” for best ensemble for Self Medicated at the Phoenix Film Festival.
Diane starred opposite Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro as Pacino’s wife in Heat. She played Russell Crowe’s wife in The Insider, and Juliet’s mother in Baz Luhrman’s Romeo and Juliet. She has starred opposite Antonio Banderas in The 13th Warrior, played a recurring role on Chicago Hope and a starring role in the ABC series Thunder Alley.
