Joan Sweeny – Producer

Joan Sweeny, is a native New Yorker and partner in Red Road Productions.

Joan has executive produced the play Frankie and Johnnie in the Claire de Lune at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and the Odyssey Theater, the play Cleaning House by Robert Patrick, which was then made into the award-winning short film Red Pants, and the short film Letters from Frankenstein starring Steve Sandvoss.

Joan received a “special thanks” for mentoring Lullaby, starring Tobin Bell, winner of the Corwin Award (Matt Wilson) from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She is currently on the Board of Governors for the American Film Institute Associates (the fundraising arm of AFI), which supports the Women Director’s Program and film preservation.
She is an honorary member of the Actors Studio and has served on the Membership Committee there.

She is an Executive Member of Women in Film.
